Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is first of all prayer. But centering prayer is not like prayers we recite, or prayers of petition or thanksgiving. Centering prayer involves sitting silently in God's presence, giving up thoughts as they arise and returning to God over and over.

During centering prayer we invite God to work in our hearts without interference by the mind. Some prayers find deep peace from centering prayer, but this is not the measure of success. It is only by the fruits of the spirit seen in one's life that the value of this prayer can be judged.

Our Centering Prayer group meets every Friday morning at 9:30. People of all faith traditions are welcome. No reservation or registration is necessary.
