Solstice Celebration with Holden Evening Prayer & Bonfire
Join us for a Solstice celebration. We'll begin with a 25-minute evening worship service using the beloved Holden Evening Prayer liturgy, followed by a fire on the labyrinth with roasted marshmallows and hot apple cider.
Questions? Contact Marie Gettel-Gilmartin or Christie Bernklau Halvor.

Gospel Nonviolence
Join others from Spirit of Grace who will be learning more about Gospel nonviolence with Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. These talks, led by Fumi Tosu of the Dandelion House Catholic Worker community, are based on the new book The Gospel of Peace: A Commentary on Matthew, Mark, and Luke from the Perspective of Nonviolence (use discount code JDT to buy the book for $20, although the book is not needed to attend). Registration details to follow. Questions? Contact Mary Ryan-Hotchkiss or Karen Moore (let Karen know if you would like to carpool).
This series runs on Wednesday nights for three weeks (December 6, 13, 20).

The Journey: Faith in Real Life
In December, we will examine with Pastor Mike Keys the four prologues of the Gospels which give us the varying details of the blended Christmas story we're most familiar with. RSVP to Pastor Mike.
UPCOMING TOPICS INCLUDE:
December 6: The Prologues of the Four Gospels
December 13: A Focus on Mark & Luke
December 20: The Prologue of John
This Wednesday evening series offers an adult version of the class being offered to our middle school confirmation students, exploring how the core components of Christian faith apply to the challenges of daily life. It will run throughout the year with various presenters. Anyone 16 years of age and older is welcome to attend any single session or all of them.

"Becoming Kin" Book Study
Join Rev. Dr. Janet Parker in reading and discussing Becoming Kin: An Indigenous Call to Unforgetting the Past and Reimagining Our Future, a provocative and inspiring book by Anishinaabe and Ukrainian writer Patty Krawec. Krawec says she was thinking of all the "good Christians I grew up with when I wrote this book." She invites us on a journey to “unforget” the true history of the US and settler-indigenous relations and to reimagine a future that brings all of us — settlers, indigenous, and the “displanted” (African-Americans brought here against their will) — into kinship with one another and the land we share. Krawec invites us to reflect on our own ancestry and relationship to the land. Sessions will begin with scriptural grounding that reflects Advent themes.
This series runs on Tuesday evenings for 4 weeks (November 28, December 5, 12, 19).

Introduction to Engaged Contemplation
Bring your morning beverage and join from your favorite prayer space for this three-session introduction to Engaged Contemplation with Pastor Robyn. A new church year brings us the opportunity to deepen our prayer practices and the ways they ground us to work for justice. Participants will be invited to commit to a daily practice with the Divine. We will use materials provided by teachers from the Center for Action and Contemplation including Fr. Richard Rohr, Dr. Barbara Holmes, Brian McLaren, Dr. James Finley, and Dr. Randy Woodley. To sign up or learn more, contact Pastor Robyn.
This series runs on Saturday mornings for 3 weeks (December 2, 9 and 16).
